Steering Column Tester

This tester is designed to test the steering column systems for golf carts. The test included three sub-tests: static rotational load on the column, side load on the column, and actual rotation through full travel with controlled torque.

The rotational torque is controlled by pneumatic brakes at three different levels based on air pressure and the static rotational force is applied by pneumatic rotary actuators.  Side load is also applied by pneumatic cylinder.

The system is designed to simultaneously test up to three steering column assemblies through a user determined number of cycles.  The system is controlled by a PLC.
