End of Line Tester for Manual Seat Tracks
This "End-of-Line" Tester for manual seat tracks is based on our standard Life Tester for power seat tracks. It includes an overhead loading system and pneumatic cylinders for operating the manual seat functions. The intent with this design is to preserve the capability of the original Life Tester. This particular customer used the same machine for low volume production testing and ongoing life testing.
The gage-quality test station is intended to initially check the floor pan mounting hole locations before even starting the test. Assuming the track fits on the fixture, the test can be started. On some styles of tracks, an upper fixture (gage quality) is also required to check mounting hole locations of the track to the upper seat assembly. During the test, the simulated seat and occupant weights rest on this upper fixture.
The actual test sequence operates both the latching mechanism and the fore / aft travel to ensure proper operation, while under load. Load cells on both functions ensure that maximum efforts are not exceeded.
